My partner and I stayed at Hotel Alpenblick for two nights at the end of August for our honeymoon, and it was a phenomenal experience. The property is a historic, beautifully constructed Swiss chalet that immediately draws you in. It’s authentically decorated with memorabilia from several generations of this family-run business, giving it a warm, genuine charm rather than feeling staged for tourists. The absolute highlight of our stay was the exceptional hospitality. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, starting with a thoughtful welcome gift of Swiss chocolates. They were incredibly accommodating—safely storing our luggage when we arrived before check-in—and were always ready to help us plan our daily itinerary whenever we needed guidance. Dining was another major highlight—discovering they have a Michelin-starred restaurant on-site was an amazing surprise. While the daily breakfast spread was a bit smaller than we anticipated, absolutely everything served was delicious and of high quality. The location is ideal, situated just a highly scenic 10-minute walk from Wilderswil station. They also provide the Interlaken guest card at check-in (a standard but highly useful perk for the region), which makes getting around a breeze. Overall, Hotel Alpenblick offers incredible value for money. We ate at their Terrace Restaurant. We were a group of 10, including 4 children ages 8 to 3. They asked us to submit our main course choices in advance to help the kitchen. Our waiter, Thorin, was fantastic. He created a truly Swiss experience. We had the traditional dishes—and the cheese fondue—one with Champagne and the other with Kirsch—were amazing. He recommended the perfect white wine to pair with the fondue. We spent a wonderful week staying here and loved the charming wooden chalet hotel, which is full of character. It’s in a beautiful setting. The staff are kind and welcoming. Sandra, Angelina, Francesco, and the girl with dark hair—who said “no stress” 😁 in the dining room—and Ursula at the front desk. All first-class staff, and the lovely girl who cleaned our rooms and did a stellar job. The food was fabulous. We had a fantastic stay. It was lovely to walk through the different areas and see artifacts from days gone by. The old wooden staircase is beautiful, too. I think we were spoiled. Our room 08 must be the best in the hotel! We came with GRJ. It was a large group, and we must have been among the oldest. The staff were professional, which contributed to the great atmosphere at the hotel—something both our group and the hotel staff enjoyed. The meals were really good, except for the fondue night, which didn’t suit our taste. The room we were assigned on the first night also didn’t suit us because it didn’t have a walk-in shower, but after speaking with the owner, we were moved to Room 38, which was an excellent, comfortable room with a balcony. The hotel was very clean and tidy and had a traditional feel. The area where the hotel was located was very quiet and picturesque. They provided a free transportation pass for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was very good—we had the cheese fondue. Keep in mind that the hotel is not in central Interlaken; it’s a 5-minute walk to a bus stop, then a 10-minute ride to Interlaken. The train station is also a 10-minute walk away. The scenery around the hotel is quite impressive. We enjoyed being secluded yet close to Interlaken. The room was spacious and quiet.
