Hospitality for 131 years

Story #4:

From chalet to gourmet restaurant: how the Alpenblick has been transformed again and again in its 400-year history.

The floors creak, the rooms are wood-paneled and very cozy: In the heart of Wilderswil stands a very special chalet with 23 rooms and a long tradition in hospitality.

The 17th century Chalet Alpenblick has been an inn since 1890. Adelheid Stöckli acquired the chalet in 1957 and handed it over to her son Richard in 1980. Today, Yvonne and Richard Stöckli are the hosts at Hotel Alpenblick. Together with their team they cultivate good food, warm hospitality and tried and tested Bernese Oberland traditions.

In all these years the house has changed again and again. In 1985 a modern heating system was acquired, in 1993 the beautiful garden was laid out and shower/WC was installed in the rooms. In the same year the chalet Stöckli was bought, in 2005 the chalet Enzian was renovated, in 2010 the outer facade was renovated and sandblasted.
